We are currently looking to fill the following positions:
 

PART-TIME TRANSPORTER(Multiple Openings)

Reports to: Ground Zero Coordinator
Primary Responsibilities (Include But Not Limited To):

  • Provide transportation for pet owners to and from spay/neuter clinics

  • Collect donations of food, litter, and supplies and distribute to fosters and pet owners.

  • Assist with transportation of animals to adoption events.

 

Supporting Responsibilities:

  • Contact pet owners to schedule for spay/neuter clinics to assist Ground Zero Coordinator

  • Assist with trapping when necessary

  • Distribute flyers and HCWS information

  • Willingness to assist at clinic if staffing shortages occur

 

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Effective communication skills, bilingual preferred, to deal with a wide variety of peopl

  • Proof of insurance and dependable transportation required. No moving violations past 2 years

  • Good physicality to lift heavy objects and handle large animals.

  • Must have temperament not prone to excitability. 

  • Must keep issues in perspective to overall goals

  • Prior experience as vet tech or clinical knowledge about animal first aid highly desired.

  • Stamina and high energy required.

  • Willingness to wear sturdy work shoes, HCWS t-shirt and appropriate shorts/slacks.

Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to lift 75 pounds consistently throughout the day 

  • Job requires handling difficult animals

  • May be subjected to dog/cat bites or scratches

  • Driving for an extended amount of time
Required for Hiring:
  • Pass drug test
  • I-9 form
  • Valid drivers license w/no moving violations past 2 years.
  • Tetanus Shot

HCWS GROUND ZERO SCHEDULER
Reports to: GZ Coordinator/Office Manager
Primary Responsibilities (Include But Not Limited To):

 

1.   Schedule spay/neuter (s/n) appointments with participating vet offices in timely manner after client request.

2.   Respond timely to client phone calls requesting information about sterilization/vaccination services.

3.   Initiate and maintain proper documents for vets, ground zero staff, transporter, HCWS office to track phone call, surgery, and follow up activities.

4.   Enter required data into database and maintain current statistics as directed.

5.   Communicate to HCWS management and ground zero coordinator, issues, difficulties and topics to improve response to client, pets, and internal customers.  Be part of the solution.

6.   Perform follow up to reschedule, bill or contact client as required and indicated on Ground Zero Tally Sheet.

 

Supporting Responsibilities:

 

1.   Provide excellent customer service, help inform, and build relationships with clients that call, contracted vet office and staff, and HCWS volunteers and staff.

2.   Daily print mapquest or other route maps for transporter to facilitate pick up and drop off of animals. 

3.   Prepare back up schedule for no shows/rejects with proper info going to ground zero staff and transporter.

4.   Fax open appointments weekly to ground zero coordinator and other HCWS as requested.

                                               

Required Skills and Experience:

 

1.   Customer service focus as part of exceptional communication skills required.

2.   Ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities required.

3.   Prior experience that reflects ability to use good judgement.

4.   Must be able to work with a range of clients, volunteers, internal and external customers.

5.   Documentation skills and basic use of common computer programs required.

6.   Ability to feed, clean up after, and provide basic care to cats and dogs.

 

Working Conditions:

 

1.   Must be able to flex schedule when work load or exceptions require.

2.   Working around dogs and cats daily.

 

Required for Hiring:

 

1.   I 9 form

2.   Pass drug test

3.   Prior work references reflect skills required
