Ground Zero

Ground ZeroIn our War Against Reproduction, (WAR), the Ground Zero program takes us to the heart of the pet overpopulation problem, which is less fortunate neighborhoods in Las Vegas.

These neighborhoods are responsible for the majority of animals that become homeless, are impounded by the shelter, and are killed because the shelter runs out of room.

The goal of Ground Zero is to reduce the number of unwanted pets by preventing reproduction in high risk areas.  This highly successful program was launched in 2003 and continues to target “at risk” neighborhoods weekly.

Our Ground Zero Outreach staff visit mobile home parks, and other high density areas to work with management and residents to identify pets that need sterilization.

Some transport assistance is available for those that have no transportation to get their animals to the clinic.

If you want to get involved in your neighborhood to reduce the pet overpopulation problem, and are willing to assist, call us and ask for the Outreach Coordinator.  We will work with you to put together a focused effort to spay/neuter the pets in your neighborhood.  Together we can make a difference and save lives!
