Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends, so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Little One

Little One...so full of fear no one's gonna hurt you here.

Soon; you'll see, how it feels to trust 'cuz you've been rescued, just like us.

We promise that it's not too late because we all know, that heaven can wait.

Forget the broken road you've traveled on for yesterday has come and gone.

That's a lesson we must all learn and now, Little One...it is your turn.

Come with us, walk by our side, hold your tail up high with pride.

And in the end, when we're all through, there'll be a family just waiting for you.

Because, Little One...so full of fear, no one's gonna hurt you here.

~ Terri Haga

Time To Say Goodbye

She came into my life for such a short time
A time I wouldn't trade, not even for a dime
Then before you know it, the years flew by
And then all of a sudden I didn't have a chance to say goodbye

Time has passed since that dreadful day
When the Lord decided to take you away
The emptiness still lingers from time to time
But when I think about you, I know I'll be fine

Over the days I've shed many tears
And the memories will live on with me for years
I think about memories from the years past
When you were young, and strong, and ran so fast
You always made me happy
And never made me Mad

You were more than just a pet
You were my best friend from the day we met
A love you showed me that I'll never forget
A Faithful companion from beginning to end

I gave you a home and you gave me your heart
There is no way we will ever part
I wish you were still here right by my side
Just like when you sat on my lap when we went for a ride

With a heavy heart and a tear in my eye
After 15 years I'm forced to say goodbye
Please forgive me; I tried everything I could
If there was anything I could have done I would
Life is created based on fate
And by the time they found the cause, it was too late

I love you so much, and I think you knew
Then the Lord called, and you needed to go
I wish it weren't so
I wish you could've stay; I wasn't ready for you to go

It hurts so much to lose my best friend
But Wolfie, you'll always be with me until the very end

In Loving memory to a truly devoted and faithful companion, Wolfie.

In loving memory of Max. You are missed by all of us. We love you. God will take care of you.
- Love, The Congdon family in Horseheads, NY

Max was a registered mountain cur dog. He loved playing and having fun. On Dec. 26, 2006, epilepsy took Max away from us at the young age of 2 1/2. He was diagnosed with epilepsy when he was 6 months old. As he grew, it worsened and the medications just could not control it anymore. We rescued Max as a puppy from a home filled with dogs and puppies. He was infested with fleas and unhealthy. Our wonderful vet got him back to a healthy puppy.

In memory of my dear friend, Sakae Nafie, who died June 5, 2006.  Sakae was a great golfing partner.  In our brief friendship we played in Heaven Can Wait golf events and won.  I wish there could have been more time together.  She loved animals, especially cats.  I will miss her forever.

Love,

Patty Wright

Beloved Princess
August 15, 1991 to November 7, 2006
My faithful friend and companion

Between last night and this morning, she was so sick, I had to do the humane thing. I went to Target and bought a beautiful pink blanket that said "Little Princess" and wrapped her in it.

I called the vet to see if they would see her without waiting and they did. She was given an tranquilizer, and we were able to say our goodbyes; she went peacefully to sleep at 9:40 am PST.

We so love our fury babies,
Our pets, so love us.
No strings.
Others do not understand
Our pets are just like our kids
For those that have no kids
Our pets ARE our kids.
Thank you & lots of LOVE to all of my life long pets that have crossed the RAINBOW BRIDGE.
Tiger, Sugar, Boo, Barry, Henry, Micki & Mandi
Love to all....:)
P.S. The shelter staff are wonderful people

Rocky was our mini-schnauzer who lived a very full life. From jumping off a boat in the middle of a lake to taking many unsupervised tours through the neighborhood, Rocky had enough energy and spunk for 100 dogs. She was even up for a costume party when the mood struck her and was voted "Best Dressed Dog" in Douglas County, NV. She brought us years of happiness and we will miss her everyday of our lives. Until we meet again, little Rocky.

2/19/91-4/27/06
Otis was our boy, fun loving Chihuahua with the neatest personality that kept us in stitches (just look at that smile). Who else could get away with walking on a freshly mopped floor, barge in everyone's bedroom like it was his.. He knew he could and would get away with it cause he was "King" .. He gave us 15 wonderful years. He's truly missed but very much in our hearts.
Till we meet again dear Otis...
-The Brown Family

Toto a white cairn terrier was best friend to a blind firefighter, step mother to a mini schnauzer, fearless in the face of rain and wind, and the best dog you could ever have. She was cut down in the prime of her life by a careless neighbor while getting the mail on a Sunday morning. We miss you Toto.

Snoopy was taken from us just before my birthday in Dec 2005. His big heart and love for fun couldn't stop the car from running him down. He was and will always be the sweetest furr baby I have ever had the pleasure of loving. He funny little purr-bark will always echo in my mind and remind me to always be vigulant with the ones I love in the present and future. Snoopy Doo-We love you!! 11-17-04 to 12-04-05. Be happy Snoopy.

my sugar girl elka.....she will be in my heart and soul forever. she always gave so generously and showed me what life is truly about. she was the sweetest dog and always put me first, even in her the last hours. she was there for me unconditionally and placed me on a pedestal. now, she wears the well-deserved crown and until we meet again, i will keep her close to me and in my heart every single and cherished minute.
-Mom and Katie

My Devon was taken from us at six months old from distemper that was picked up at a shelter. The day we got Devon it was his last day at the shelter, so we saved him and he got to live one more month than he would have. In that month we showed him what real love is. I love you Devon and I know one day I will see you again.
-Valerie Hamilton

My baby beagle Chloe was one of a kind. She loved playing and taking naps. I will miss her a lot. she died in 2004, two days after Christmas. - Shaw

A month may seem a bit premature to eulogize a lost friend, but Candy was always a free spirit, and more of a partner than a pet. I adopted her three years ago, a six-month-old tabby in a shelter filled with kittens. She could purr and cuddle, but was feisty, and could really bite, when she wanted to show she was a tough little lady! She loved me, and I loved her, and accepted that she was an 'outdoor' girl, but when I moved from SC to NV, she made the 3000-mile trip with me, unaware that she would have to be 'indoors', now. Candy tried her best, but she finally felt too strong a stirring, and leapt from my balcony, and out of my life. Despite my best efforts, I haven't found her, and have been advised to accept that she is gone. There will be other cats in my life, but Candy will always be special, a true love that changed my life...I hope she has found the happiness she deserves!
-B. Burgraff

In memory of Baby, a sweet little bundle of joy. She was taken from me by distemper because a shelter gave her the vaccination to early and she couldn't survive it. She will always be loved.

To all the hundreds of thousands of animals who have lost their lives due to human lethargy.  Thank you Heaven Can Wait Sanctuary for helping to reduce the daily numbers of euthanizations!
-Mary Hawthorne

I just adopted Jazz. She is a wonderful, energetic 63lbs pup. But before I got her I had adopted a precious little 8 week old girl, I named her Sadie. She was only with me for a little over two weeks then distemper took her from me. She was only with me a short while but she deeply touched the lives around her. She is missed. Thank you for all the good that you do and for giving me Jazz. In memory of "Sadie" my little angel.
