Our Story

Heaven Can Wait Animal Society was founded as a non-profit in 2000, with the goal to eliminate the senseless, unnecessary killing of cats and dogs in Las Vegas area shelters. We focus on the critical need for high-volume, low-cost targeted spay and neuter surgeries for companion animals and free-roaming cats, as well as providing educational programs and adoption opportunities.
Here are the key areas of our focus:
  • We focus on spay and neuter efforts that target neighborhoods from which a large number of dogs and cats enter the shelter system.
  • We create opportunities for dogs to obtain a second, and often a third or fourth, chance at a new lease on life through our Pups On Parole Program.
  • We help form local coalitions with other animal welfare groups.
  • We offer free vaccination clinics in neighborhoods with a high percentage of pets entering into the shelter system.
We fight hard to save lives, but without YOUR support, this work is not possible. Please consider supporting our efforts to continue to provide critical free and/or low-cost income targeted spay and neuter surgeries. Heaven Can Wait is also the ONLY truly low-cost spay and neuter resource for community cats in the area. Join our team today!
