Who We Are

Heaven Can Wait Animal Society was founded as a non-profit in 2000 with the goal to eliminate the senseless, unnecessary killing of cats and dogs in Las Vegas area shelters by focusing on the critical need for high-volume low-cost targeted spay and neuter surgeries for companion animals and free roaming cats, as well as providing educational programs and adoption opportunities.
Our founder, Harold Vosko, had a dream to stop the senseless killing of dogs and cats in the Las Vegas area when he founded Heaven Can Wait. We focus on the critical need for low-cost income-targeted spay and neuter surgeries. This past year we celebrated a milestone, performing over 150,000 surgeries!
We offer greatly discounted spay and neuter pricing, which allows pet owners to keep pets in homes and out of shelters, as well as helps to reduce the free-roaming, outdoor community cat population through trap-neuter-return targeted efforts. Heaven Can Wait is also the only resource of this type for free-roaming cats in the area.
With each dollar raised, we are able to perform these critical spay and neuter surgeries, which is the proven way to reduce the population numbers, and keep dogs and cats out of shelters in the first place. Each day, we continue fighting to save even more lives, because dogs and cats are still dying unnecessary, senseless deaths.
The Las Vegas area has a population of over two million people, with a high poverty rate and many people living on fixed incomes. According to the American Veterinary Medical Association, there are an estimated 100,000 dogs and 150,000 cats that reside in the area.
Your support is needed more than ever as our goal is to serve and help save 100 or more dogs and cats per day!
